Premier League giants Liverpool have dethroned Spanish champions Barcelona thereby moving to number one position in the European clubs index for the very first time.

Liverpool were on the verge of losing their last Premier League game against Aston Villa before coming back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Robertson and Sadio Mane. Jurgen Klopp's men are now maintaining their six-point lead on the Premier League standings this term. The Reds who won the Champions League title last season are now being considered as strong favorites to win the 2019/20 Premier League title.

Liverpool were ranked 37th halfway through Brendan Rodgers' first season and a lowly 27th when Jurgen Klopp first inherited the reins. Meanwhile, Manchester United are missing on the top ten list as the Old Trafford club are occupying 11th position on the standings.
