Lionel Messi Told Me To Shut Up - Brazil Coach Tite

Brazil Coach Tite has revealed that Lionel Messi told him to shut after a confrontation during the match against Argentina. Messi scored the only goal as he finished off the rebound after seeing his penalty saved by Alisson Becker of Liverpool.

But Messi wasn’t in the best mood during a passage when Tite reckons he should have been shown a yellow card.

Messi reacted by telling Tite to shut his mouth and gesturing with his finger over his mouth.

"I complained because he [Messi] should have been shown a yellow card and he told me to shut my mouth and I told him to shut his mouth,” Brazil boss Tite said.

"And that was it. "I don't want to answer anymore on it. You need a strong referee because he'll swallow you… It should have been a card, I was right to complain."

Messi condemned Brazil to a fifth straight game without a win in his first appearance since facing a three-month ban.

He was banned for claiming the Copa America was corrupt following a red card against Chile in the third place play off.

He was also fined $50,000 (£41,121) by Conmebol, the South American Football Confederation.
