Jose Mourinho Takes First Training Session As Tottenham Manager

Jose Mourinho has already taken part in his first training session as Tottenham Manager but not all players were present. Mourinho was named as new Spurs boss early on Wednesday following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Portuguese manager is back in work 11 months after being shown the door by fellow Premier League side Manchester United.

And Mourinho wasted no time showing his players his style, donning a bright purple jacket as he took to the training pitch for the first time.

There were some absentees on the playing side though with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Ben Davies having featured for their international sides last night.

He then had to be careful to avoid the sprinklers at Tottenham’s training ground as a slick surface was prepared.

And the new boss had spoken about his excitement at joining a club who have won just three of their first 12 Premier League matches this season.

“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,” he said.

“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Mourinho has appointed five men to his backroom staff wit Joao Sacramento being named his assistant.

Carlos Lalin will be the fitness trainer while Giovanni Cerra is joining the analysis team and Ricardo Formoshino will become a new scout. Nuno Santos will be in charge of the goalkeepers.
