It's Annoying - PSG Chief Leonardo Slams Zidane For Kylian Mbappe Transfer Talks

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has slammed Zinedine Zidane for talking on Kylian Mbappe's 'dream' of moving to Real Madrid. The La Liga giants boss said he was aware it is the World Cup winner's 'dream' to play for the club earlier this week.

Mbappe featured in PSG's 1-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday night and after the match PSG's chief responded to Zidane's remarks.

'Honestly, it's a bit irritating, it's annoying, it's not the first time this has happened,' Leonardo said.

'I think that now is not the time to talk about this.

'He is a player who has two-and-a-half years left on his contract withus, so to talk about what he wants, his "dream", every time... If we can just stop this, pause this talk.

'Kylian is a very important player for us. Now is not the time to destabilise him.'

Mbappe's current contract at the French giants runs until the summer of 2022 and PSG are reportedly looking to fend off interest from Madrid by offering him a lucrative new contract.

According to Le Parisien, PSG will offer Mbappe a deal that he simply cannot refuse - one that would see him move in line with Neymar by earning £35million per season.

PSG travel to Madrid to face Zidane's Real in their next Group A game later this month.

Meanwhile, Leonardo said PSG would not rush into offering new contracts to veteran duo Thiago Silva and Edinson Cavani, both of whom will be free agents at the end of the current campaign.

"We will see what happens as the season goes on. We are not putting a time limit on it, we will decide together, one thing or another. A year is an eternity," he said.
