Atletico Madrid Ready To Sign Barca Star Ivan Rakitic In January

Atletico Madrid is ready to offer Barcelona £35m for out of favor midfielder Ivan Rakitic. According to Movistar+, The Croatian has been linked with a move away from the club, and has voiced his frustrations at not being given enough game time at the Nou Camp this season.

Juventus, Inter Milan, and AC Milan have all been seen as potential destinations, but now it appears he will be heading over to Barcelona's La Liga rivals.

Rakitic had been a key part of the centre of Barcelona's play for the past five years since he joined the club from Sevilla in 2014.

During his time at the Nou Camp, Rakitic has won three La Liga titles, one Champions League and four Copa del Rey crowns.

However, with the arrivals of Arturo Vidal, Frenkie De Jong, and Arthur Melo in recent times, he has fallen down the pecking order.

He has featured just seven times in La Liga, and three times in the Champions League this season, most often as a second half substitute, managing no goals and just one assist.

The 31-year-old's contract at the Nou Camp expires in 2021, but he looks set to leave in January, despite failing to secure a move over the summer.

The Catalan club were thought to be holding out for at least £30million for the player, but are wary that his value may drop if he enters the last year of his contract.
