Arsene Wenger Confirms Bayern Munich Talks For Next Week Over Manager Role

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will hold talks with Bayern Munich over their vacant managerial role. Reports earlier this week suggested Wenger had been ruled out of the role with the Bundesliga giants.

Wenger has been out of work since leaving Arsenal in 2018, though has regularly been linked with top jobs.

Bayern are searching for a new manager after sacking Niko Kovac following a poor start to the season.

They have won just five of their first ten Bundesliga games and are four points off leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

And Wenger has revealed that he will meet with Bayern chiefs next week over the manager role.

Wenger told beIN Sports: "On Wednesday afternoon, Rumenigge called me. I could not answer at that moment and, by politeness, I called him back.

"He was in his car going to the game against Olympiacos. We talked for four to five minutes maximum and he told me they had assigned Flick to be the coach and he will manage the next two games because they play Dortmund tomorrow.

"He asked me if I would be interested because they are looking for a coach. I told him I didn't have any thoughts about it. It needssome time to have a think about it.

"We decided together we will talk next week because I am in Dohauntil Tuesday night. This is the true story."

Wenger had recently admitted the Bayern job does appeal.
He said: “Coaching was my whole life until now and everybody who has coached will tell you the same.

“You miss the intensity. There’s some things you miss a lot and some things you don’t miss. So I enjoyed as well things I don’t miss too much.

“But on the other hand, winning football games, preparing a team for a game, developing players and getting satisfaction and shared emotions is something that you miss.”
