Arsenal Coach Unai Emery Explains 'Sack' Rumours After 2-0 Leicester Draw

Coach Unai Emery is confident that he has the backing of the Arsenal board amid recent sack rumours. Leicester secured another big winner in the League with Jamie Vardy and Maddison both scoring the goals yesterday.

The Gunners have struggled at the start of this season with Emery under immense pressure.

But the Spaniard, who took over in 2018 following the departure of Arsene Wenger, is confident that he will be given time in charge at the Emirates.

Following the defeat, he said: “We need time and we need patience. We’ve changed a lot of players and we have young players.

“We are very ambitious with our demands and our targets. We know we need time and to be patient. We had a lot of circumstances that didn’t help us.

“The most important [thing] is to be calm and be ambitious and demand of ourselves.”

And when asked by Sky Sports if the club is calm and behind him, Emery simply responded: “Yes.”

Jose Mourinho had been linked with a role at Arsenal should Emery leave with the Portuguese boss being out of work since being sacked by Manchester United last December.
