Ronaldo's Fans Chanted “Messi” In Portugal Game Against Serbia.

Cristiano Ronaldo has once against shown the class he’s made of in a Euro 2020 qualifier campaign against Serbian fans who taunted him with “Messi” chants.

Portugal faced Serbia in a game that ended 4-2 with stunning goals from William Carvalho, Goncalo Guedes, Cristian Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva.

The victory saw Portugal leap to second position in Group B. They now have five points from three games and are placed behind group leaders Ukraine.

Ukraine who won Lithuania 3-0 now have 13 points from five games.

Scoring was opened in the 42nd minute with Carlvalho blasting into an open net. This was after Serbia goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic fumbled a cross from Bruno Fernandes.

The first half saw Ronaldo subdued as fans jeered his every touch on the ball.

In the second half, he came close to scoring twice. First was when he fired from close to the penalty spot after curling from the left. His second attempt saw him curl a free-kick above goal.

Portugal’s lead was doubled by Guedes whose effort silenced the raucous home crowd in Serbia.

Serbia pulled one back through its Centre-back Nikola Milenkovic to make the game 2-1.

In reaction to the taunt of “Messi” by Serbian fans at the Red Star Stadium, Ronaldo showed his class in the 80th minute by making good use of a Bernado Silva pass to fire home the third goal for Portugal.

Serbia didn’t relent as they got a second goal through Aleksandar Mitrovic to make the game 3-2.

A minute later, Bernado Silva completed 4 goals for Portugal.
