Paulo Dybala Deal Nears Completion As Spurs Reach An Agreement With Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing the stunning signing of Paulo Dybala after reaching an agreement with Juventus.

The Juventus star, 25, was heavily linked with Manchester United in a swap deal for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, 26.

But the Red Devils ended their interest in the Argentine forward and Spurs are closing in on a marquee summer signing.

According to BBC Sport, Spurs are 'hopeful' of pushing the deal through before the 5pm UK transfer deadline.

United were unable to reach an agreement with Dybala as they refused to meet his incredible wage demands.

Dybala did not travel with Juventus for their pre-season tour due to his involvement in the Copa America with Argentina.

But the Argentina international met with club boss Maurizio Sarri upon his return amid interest from United at the time.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been keen to add more depth to his squad after falling short of the Champions League crown last season.

The Premier League side smashed their club-record transfer fee to land midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, 22, from Lyon for £54m.

And they also snapped up winger Jack Clarke, 18, from Leeds United for a fee in the region of £10m, but he has been loaned back to the Championship side for the following season.
