Caniggia’s wife accuses him of living with prostitute who keeps him ‘drugged up all day’

Argentina World Cup star Claudio Caniggia has been accused of living with a drug-addled prostitute - by his own wife.

And the former Rangers striker's missus Mariana Nannis claimed Caniggia beat her so badly she suffered a miscarriage.

Caniggia, 52, won an SPL title, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups after joining Gers from Dundee.

The former Atalanta, Roma and Benfica ace ended his two-year Ibrox stay in 2003 to join Qatar SC.

Buenos Aires-born Caniggia has been wed to Mariana since 1988. They have three children.

The 50-cap international has recently formed a relationship with writer and model Sofia Bonelli, 26.

Blonde Mariana has now launched blistering attacks on Caniggia and his new partner.

She told Argentine TV: "I am not separated from my husband, not divorced or anything.

"He is with a drug-addicted prostitute, who keeps him drugged up all day long.

"They will both end up in prison.

"I can't go to where he is living with that hooker. Forget it.

"I'm going to consult my lawyers. I have spent 33 years with him.

"He shoved me against a car. I was two and a half months pregnant at the time.

"I was having a massage the next day and saw my legs covered in a river of blood.

"I grabbed a towel and a heap of toilet paper, and rushed to the clinic.

"But when I called Claudio to tell him what had happened he said I was one of those b*****s who loved to play the victim.

"He killed my baby."

Caniggia has hit back by claiming Mariana needs psychiatric help.

He wrote on Instagram: "Let's get Mariana a psychiatrist URGENTLY, as she's not in a sane frame of mind.

"I'll do this not just for me, but my children and all the other third parties who are victims of this madness.

"I don't want to, but it is my duty. Mariana is out of her mind, and has been for years.

"That is why we have reached the situation where we are now."

Meanwhile brunette Sofia has also hit out at her love rival's outburst.

She declared: "This is pathetic. I feel very sorry for her having to create this circus.

"She's flown back to Argentina to bad-mouth us. I don't need to deny anything.

"I feel very comfortable from the legal point of view."
