Kylian Mbappe sparks Liverpool transfer theory as eagle-eyed fans spot Instagram activity

The Paris Saint-Germain forward is currently on holiday in Tokyo, following a break in California.

When he returns to Paris, it is likely that he could have a new strike partner at the start of the new season.

Both Neymar and Edinson Cavani have been linked with moves away from the Parc des Princes, while Antoine Griezmann could be brought in as a replacement for either star.

However it is Mbappe that some Liverpool fans hope could be on the move, after some suspicious Instagram activity.

On Monday, one eagle-eyed fan noted that he had followed Liverpool players past and present, including Fabinho and Mohamed Salah.

He also followed former Reds Philippe Coutinho, Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, along with other rumoured transfer targets Nabil Fekir and Memphis Depay.

To further set pulses racing, he also posted an Instagram story with a black background and the caption: “SOON”, leading many to hope he was referring to a potential move to Anfield.

Mbappe arrived at PSG for £166m, a world record fee paid for a teenager, two years ago and has established himself as one of, if not the best, players in Ligue 1, having won back-to-back titles.
