Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is open to letting Paul Pogba leave this summer if he decides he no longer wants to play for the club, ESPN reports.
Pogba is believed to be keen on a move to Real Madrid and United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League is only likely to increase his desire to move to the Bernabeu.
United paid a then-world record £89m fee for Pogba in 2016 and executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, views the midfielder as an important symbol of United’s worldwide appeal.
Woodward blocked Pogba from joining Barcelona last summer when the Frenchman fell out with Jose Mourinho.
Solskjaer has recently spoken of his desire to keep Pogba but also refused to guarantee he will stay at the club beyond this summer.
Solskjaer is of the opinion that the club should not keep a player that doesn’t want to be there, while Woodward feels Pogba’s exit would damage United’s reputation.
