Footballer Andile Jali Arrested Over Alleged Domestic Violence

Andile Ernest Jali, South African footballer who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League and the South African national football team was on Monday arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife, Nonhle Ndala.

According to the police, the severity of his charges did not warrant his release, as he awaited his court appearance that was scheduled for Tuesday.

Other charges Andile faces include malicious damage to property for allegedly damaging Nonhle’s vehicle.

Thankfully, Nonhle did not sustain any serious injuries.

“The whole incident started when security officials, where Jali stays, called the police due to the fracas. The woman was not seriously hurt, and the only thing was that the car she was driving was damaged,” police spokesperson said.

Andile has since been released on bail, and has opened a case of assault, against his wife too.

His case has been remanded to December 6.
